Do you want to be a generalist or a specialist? Work in operations or develop strategy? Which of the core businesses would you prefer? Would you like to be in Upstream, Central HR or Downstream? Work in one country? Regionally? Globally? There are so many possible permutations for developing your HR professionalism. You will enjoy a broad range of experiences, and you will be doing a real job right from the start, helping to add value to the business by dealing with people, processes and policies.
The best way for you to understand how Shell works and be able to apply your skills, is for you to get involved right from the start; and from day one you will be taking part in business activities. Unlike many other graduate schemes, we do not begin our HR graduate development programme with an intensive induction over a period of weeks.
Rather, we believe that the right mix of internal on-the-job ‘learning by doing’ and formal, structured learning, will enable you to become most effective, ensuring that you are continually challenged and supported as you settle into your career with Shell. Your development will be carefully guided and managed with you for your first five years through our HR Graduate First Five Years’ Development Programme.
