For those that applied for the NNPC Job Vacancy Recruitment in November 2010, NNPC has started sending out invitations to shortlisted applicants for an aptitude/knowledge test.
A hard copy of the invitation has also been sent via courier to the address that was used to apply.
Below is a copy of the email that was sent to someone who lives in Benin City (the date for Benin City is 26 March, we don’t know if it is the same for other states). If you did not apply, please tell your friends who did to check their email inbox or spam.

INVITATION FOR APTITUDE/KNOWLEDGE TEST FOR EMPLOYMENT IN THE NIGERIAN NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION (NNPC)
Following your response and online application to the job advertisement placed by NNPC in the national newspapers in November 2010, you have been shortlisted for an aptitude and knowledge test with the organisation. Details are as follows:

You are required to bring ALL of the following:
ü A print out of this email showing the sender and recipient’s email addresses
ü An original courier copy of this invitation that has been dispatched to the contact address you provided
ü A valid form of identification (e.g. Drivers’ License, National ID card or International Passport)
ü Photocopies of valid credentials including Birth Certificate/Declaration of age, WAEC Certificate, NYSC Certificate, University Certificate/ Statement of Result (for both bachelors and post graduate degrees). Attach all photocopies together.

ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
The Field Area Manager is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role you will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide field coordination and field service project management for GE Oil & Gas site activities in areas of compressors, gas turbines, multi-stage pumps, steam turbines, turbo-expanders, and reciprocating compressors for Angola including but not limited to the following:
Management and ownership all field service activities for assigned projects including meeting all contractual requirements, scope of supply, quality, customer communication, visas / work permits, travel needs, scope execution, technical issue resolution, adjacent business / parts needs, and demobilization.
Translation of customer needs / requirements into project plans to meet Customer requirements.
Coordination for resolution of all NCM / CCM for assigned projects.
Ensure quality control – coordinate disposition of all non-conformances.
3rd party vendor coordination and POR issuance requests.
Estimation and management of project cost for CS project.
Follow up of final report, project invoicing documentation, and COD certificate issueing.
Input to company quality and standardization initiatives in order to improve project management and site activities execution processes
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
3 – 5+ years related work experience in Oil & Gas industry maintenance or installation field activities or similar years’ experience in project execution.
Professional Mechanical Engineer or equivalent mechanical technical experience.
Familiarity with Control systems, Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Centrifugal Compressor and other rotating equipment.
Strong team leadership, team building and facilitation skills.
Good knowledge of English language.
Strong analytic and problem solving skills
Communication and reporting capabilities.
Computer skills and MS Office proficiency.

Supporting Activities
Day to day management of all Zonal Network Operations & Maintenance Strategic Partners(SPs) to deliver optimal availability and QoS

Tracking Zonal Network performance (Various KPIs and Network Availability)
Ensure that special task/project required by HQ Technical is carried out in the region.
Closely working with E//MS Team to develop processes to prevent/reduce network failures
Supporting the validation of CAPEX request from SPs
Tracking and ensuring that ISM vendors deliver on SLAs
Ensure SAQ activity is up to date (Rental renewal and lease payments with Regional Finance
Management of security and community issues that are beyond the MS to ensure network is not impacted negatively..
Initiating and ensuring implementation of preventive maintenance activities by SP Team in order to improve network performance.
Manage all Power improvement projects and ensuring OPEX saving initiatives are effectively implemented in the region.
Audit and support regional spares management to ensure availability of both critical and non critical spares at the regional warehouses.
Centrally co coordinating ISM project in conjunction with the regional heads.
Prepare and manage the annual Zonal operating plans OPEX (AOPs) for all the active and passive network systems in Airtel Nigeria( Financial)
Direct Annual Regional Operating Plan compilation for Airtel Nigeria Networks
Direct achievement of Annual Regional Operating Plan targets and all local and group Operating Expenditure saving initiatives to ensure optimization of all network investments
Ensure Key focus on recurring Operating Expenditure.
Drive the end to end process documentation, implementation and compliance to processes, procedures and policies to ensure seamless operations across all SP( Process Management)
Institute service level agreement measurement methodology to ensure all SPs are accurately measured, rewarded and penalized accordingly
Identify, document and implement pertinent processes procedures and policies that will continually improve operational efficiency
To ensure that all network facilities are maintained in adherence to global best practices
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure that all activities of Operations and Maintenance in the Zone adhere to corresponding regulatory requirements in daily operations.
Partner Management
Ensure all processes for effective management of Partners.
Ensuring that Zonal SP requirements receive the necessary support from both the network local and central teams
Build a capable and motivated team at Airtel Nigeria to create a high performance team environment
Develop and motivate team members through structured training and on the job coaching

Educational Qualifications & Functional/Technical Skills
Bachelor of Electrical /Electronic Engineering or Telecoms Engineering(Masters Degree in Engineering a plus)
Sound knowledge of Mobile Network O&M
Experience (Type of experience and minimum number of years)
managerial experience in a GSM/mobile company
With at least 2 years senior management experience in an area of network operations
