Chevron is the third-largest oil producer in Nigeria and one of its largest investors, spending more than $3 billion annually.

The company operates under a joint venture arrangement with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and has assets on land, swamp and near-offshore concessions covering approximately 2.2 million acres (8,900 sq km) in the Niger Delta region.


Chevron also has extensive interests in deepwater Nigeria. The Agbami Field is one of Nigeria's largest deepwater discoveries. The company also has interest in another deepwater development, the Usan project.

Chevron provides career opportunities for 3,100 employees. Another 3,500 workers are under contract. A majority of each group is Nigerian.

Job Title: DRILLING ENGINEER

Job Description: 
  1. Evaluate well design alternatives to provide auditable design basis for chosen development plans.
  2. Perform Drilling Engineering functions.
  3. Challenge all well designs as part of a peer review process.
  4. Direct overall well planning operations and in doing so serve as an Operational Excellence Champion.
  5. Focus on the leading indicators of safety and well construction.
  6. Provide mentoring to newly hired engineers.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division.

Required Skills: 
  •  Mastery of Wellview Drilling and Database Application
  •  Demonstrable knowledge of well planning softwares
  •  Good planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
  •  Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  •  Effective communication skills

Experience Minimum of Five (5) years relevant post degree work experience as a Drilling and Well Design Engineer (includes National Youth Service)

Job Title: DRILLING FLUIDS SPECIALIST

Job Description: 
  1. Establish Drilling and Completions Fluids programs.
  2. Assist, advice and support all drilling fluid activities in planning and in daily operations.
  3. Direct and coordinate field fluids engineering activities.
  4. Monitor product consumption and forecast needs for fluids related materials and ensure supply will be met.
  5. Develop fluids related bid tender specifications and perform bid analysis
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or pure sciences with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division

Required Skills: 
  •  Demonstrable experience in deepwater field fluids engineering
  •  Experience in drill cutting waste management and tracking
  •  Knowledge of Fluids related bid tender specifications and analysis
  •  Good planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
  •  Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  •  Effective communication skills

Experience Minimum of Five (5) years relevant post degree work experience as a Mud or Drilling Fluids Engineer (includes National Youth Service)
